PATRIOTIC COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING
February 17, 2010
A quorum being present, Chairperson Margaret Byrnes called the regular meeting of the Patriotic Commission to order at 7:15 p.m. in the 2nd floor conference room of the Town Hall, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
PRESENT: Margaret Byrnes, Patricia Begley, Richard Begley, Bernard Corona, Edward M. Dettore, Vincent Parys, Susan Tukey.
ABSENT: Melodie Wilson.
EXCUSED: Paul Barry, Mike Brinius, Victoria Brinius, Linda Carrasquillo, Charles Clarke
ALSO PRESENT: Robin E. Parys, Clerk.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Commissioner Vincent Parys made the motion to accept the minutes of the January 20, 2010 meeting. Commissioner Susan Tukey 2nd.
MOTION: Passed.
CORRESPONDENCE: Chairperson Margaret Byrnes read the memo sent by Rich Gentile from the Office of Corporation Counsel citing Town Ordinance 2-1(11) indicating that the Patriotic Commission may determine the need for a Treasurer should it deem necessary. Memo is on file with the Commission.
BILLS: Motion made by Commissioner Pat Begley to pay the clerk. 2nd by Commissioner Vincent Parys.
MOTION: Passed.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Commission budget is $13,164.88.
OLD BUSINESS: The 2010 Flag order has been placed. With Action Flag Company.
Commissioner Patricia Begley made a motion nominating Commissioner Vincent Parys as Secretary for the Patriotic Commission. Commissioner Susan Tukey 2nd. Chairperson Margaret Byrnes moved to close the nomination, 2nd by Commissioner Richard Begley.
MOTION: Passed.
NEW BUSINESS: None.

Commissioner Vincent Parys made the motion to adjourn the meeting, Commissioner Richard Begley 2nd. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
